PETER BELFANTI

Responsible for managing mayhem at Belfanti Machine Works, Peter brings over 25 years of experience in consumer-product engineering, design, and fabrication.

Peter has a wealth of experience in injection-molding and thermoforming plastics, as well as progressive stamping, CNC machining, and laser-cutting and water jet. He’s skilled in using computer-aided design (CAD) tools like PTC Creo (formerly Pro/Engineer) and Autodesk Fusion 360.

Originally from West Linn, Oregon, Peter earned his BS in Mechanical Engineering from Oregon Institute of Technology. He went on to pursue a career in design engineering for consumer products and industrial manufacturing.

In the course of supporting small and large businesses alike, Peter became expert at product sourcing and design both domestically in the US as well as overseas in Asian markets. His past employers include athletic-apparel giant Nike; consumer-electronics leader Logitech; and family-owned knife manufacturer Benchmade.

In his free time, Peter enjoys building race cars, exploring new opportunities for entrepreneurship, and spending time with his wife and their pug, Iggy.

SIR COLIN WALTZ

As Belfanti Machine Works’ resident welder, creative fabricator, and general magic-maker, Colin brings over 15 years of experience in mechanics and manufacturing.

With a passion for finding new ways for people and machines to work better together, Colin is as comfortable on the design/build side as he is operating the final product. His expertise runs the gamut from creating art sculptures to repairing and maintaining personal vehicles, race cars, and motorcycles.

Born and raised in southwest Portland, Colin completed coursework toward a BA in Business at Oregon State University. He later attended Portland Community College for Welding and Machine Manufacturing technologies.

On the side, Colin serves as a professional racing instructor and coach for several race groups, helping them improve their performance-driving abilities. Colin hones his own motorsports skills through International Conference of Sports Car Clubs (ICSCC) racing, long-distance adventure-motorcycle trips, and, most recently, riding dirtbikes.

In his free time, he enjoys hiking and backpacking in the Great Northwest forests, traveling the world for new foods and snorkeling spots, and spending time with his family.
